Paths

Throughout life we have to choose the path we are going to walk. Our lives consist of choices and God has given us the freedom to make those choices. He wants our love and obedience to be as an expression of our love for Him and not because He set Himself up as a religious dictator. We declare these times make it more difficult than any other time since creation to choose God’s way. However, every generation since the time of Cain and Abel have had their challenges to face. Many times throughout Scripture we are told about the debauchery, the drinking, the homosexuals, the prostitutes, the wars, the famine, the floods, the strive for success,  to name just a few. Are these not some of the same things we are facing today?

Many times we know the choice we must make and since it is more difficult to take the path God is telling us to take (Isaiah 30: 21) we struggle. The other day, I wrestled with this type of decision and during my prayer time the thought came to me: If Christ were to return today, where would I want Him to find me? Would I be doing what would make Him proud of me or would He have a look of disappointment on His face? Wow!!! I knew instantly what I wanted the answer to be.

Are you facing difficult times, having to make difficult choices? Hopefully, the thought which came to me can also assist you in making the choice God wants for you.
