Sometimes beauty can be right in front of us and we can’t see it. This butterfly is called a Glasswing because between the veins it is transparent. It gives the appearance of a stained glass window. God has made it so to its predators it appears invisible. Maybe in this one little insect, God is showing He hides His beauty right in front of our eyes. Sometimes, we just need to open our eyes and look closer to find the prize God has hidden for us.

God has placed His salvation right before our eyes. It is so simple and so beautiful that to our hardened eyes, we cannot see it or believe it. God sacrificed His Son on the cross so our sins would be forgiven so that “whosoever would believe in Him would have life everlasting”. Happy 4th of July!! In the United States, this is the day the people of America celebrate the formation of our country through the Declaration of Independence. However, each and every day we can celebrate the freedom we have as Christians. Have you accepted the freedom God offers each one of us by accepting the sacrifice Jesus Christ made for you on the cross?

Freedom does not come without sacrifice. Just as it took many lives to gain freedom and keep our country free through the years; it has taken one person to sacrifice his life so each one of us can have spiritual freedom.

Freedom doesn’t come without discipline. Many times we think freedom is the ability to do anything we want. However, without boundaries and guidelines we would have choas. Just as Paul tells us in Romans 7:19: “For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I do.” God knows that no matter how hard we try, we are going to sin and break our relationship with Him. This is why He sacrificed His Son, Jesus Christ. Thus, we would always have a means to be perfectly yoked with our Heavenly Father. As Christ told us in Matthew 11:29~~”Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” It is only by being yoked to the Son of God that enables us the freedom to mature into the son or daughter our Father has purposed us to be.
