Within days of my last post, I developed a problem with my right eye. Normally, it probably wouldn’t be much but I’m legally blind in my left eye. Thus, it’s making it difficult to read small print. Plus, it required laser surgery.
Isn’t it amazing that within days of restarting this blog, I suddenly develop eye problems. Personally, I can’t help but believe, the Enemy is once again attempting to silence me. You see, he knew he had lost and can no longer deter me by telling me God doesn’t want me writing and I’m not qualified so what does he do. Let’s get physical. Well, I’m here to say and to prove, it’s not going to work.
As a believer and follower of Jesus Christ, if something happens to you that interrupts the purpose God has for you; recognize that it’s the Enemy attempting to stop you from completing the task God has put before you.
God has been with me from the very beginning of this setback. When it happened, Christian friends were visiting me and was able to get me the name of an excellent opthamologist. Coincidence? I think not. God? Most Definitely. In turn, the opthamologist sent me to a retina specialist is was able to perform laser surgery on my eye to prevent further damage from occurring. Coincidence? I think not. God? Most definitely! These people have never before visited me at my apartment. Coincidence? I think not. God? Most definitely! Finally, the money I was going to use for the trimmings for Thanksgiving dinner was spent on doctors’ co-pay. I prayed and told God I wasn’t going to worry about anything because we’d gone through worst and He had always provided. The next morning in the door to my apartment was an envelope with a note in it which read: Congratulations! You have won a turkey dinner from Publix (a local supermarket). The beginning of next week you will receive a $50 gift card. Thank you for being such a good tenant and always paying your rent on time.” Coincidence? Most definitely not. God? Definitely.
All of this reminds me of the Scripture which says to “Praise God in all circumstances….” and in Matthew 6 where Jesus tells us “not to worry about what we wear or what we eat….are you not more important that the sparrows?”
Let go!! Let God!!!
